Abstract

Coffee farming in Indonesia still faces major challenges, including dependence on chemical pesticides, environmental degradation, and the low added value of village coffee products. Glapansari Village, Temanggung, has strong potential as a coffee agro-edu-tourism center but requires appropriate technological innovation and sustainable approaches. Through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN), the flagship program KopiNatura: Education and Action on Local-Based Botanical Pesticides was introduced as a step toward organic coffee farming, along with supporting programs such as Agricultural and Livestock Waste Utilization, Soil Conservation through Terracing, KopiTalks, Sekolah Alam, Glapansari Go Digital, Siponik, and Vertical Garden. The community service was carried out using a participatory approach through socialization, field demonstrations, and group discussions. The results show improved farmer understanding of local-based botanical pesticides, the development of tourism infrastructure, and education on soil conservation, coffee cultivation, aquaponics, and digital marketing. This program demonstrates that the synergy of education, environmental conservation, and appropriate technology can serve as an initial step toward sustainable organic coffee farming.
